Taikoza is truly an extraordinary Taiko drum group that brings together the rich traditions of Japanese music and performance in a visually captivating way. With their 150 lb taiko drums colorful costumes and soulful bamboo flute music their performances promise to be a truly memorable experience for all who attend.
Not only are Taikoza's shows immensely popular with audiences of all ages but their talent has also been recognized with numerous nominations for the best Asian Ethnic Album at the JPF Music Awards. Their unique sound created through a combination of traditional instruments such as drums of assorted sizes the Shakuhachi the Fue and colorful dances sets them apart in the world of music.
Taikoza has gained international acclaim touring around the world and making appearances on major television networks such as ESPN NBC and the History Channel. Their music has even been featured on popular Nintendo Wii games and Spotify. Their performances have graced prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall Boston Symphony Hall and Moscow's Tchaikovsky Hall showcasing their talent to audiences across the globe.
Formed in New York City by members of Ondekoza the group that sparked the Taiko renaissance in Japan in the 1960s Taikoza carries on the legacy of their predecessors and introduces Taiko to audiences worldwide.
