Sometimes controversial but always downright funny, Carey Marx is an absolute must see. Long before turning his hand to comedy, Carey Marx was a magician who once made Princess Beatrice cry. A circuit veteran, Marx concocts his own blend of dark humour with mischief and glee. His wilful disregard for the controversial and taboo is tempered with his ability to find joy in the most unexpected places.

Irrepressibly chirpy, often filthy and fabulously funny, failed drama student Lou Conran (
I was told off for not taking acting too seriously
) has made quite the name for herself both domestically and on the international circuit. Lou’s boundless energy and instinctive wit make her a natural. It’s a sign of her broad appeal that she can delight the metal heads of Download festival as well as the slightly more genteel listeners of Radio 4 Extra’s Comedy Club

Expanding life’s more mundane details into eye wettingly funny routine has been his mainstay for many a year. Whether it’s crisp packet opening etiquette or the buddy bench at your kids’ school, Alun has done all the thinking for you. Later years have seen him take on modern life’s more contentious topics but don’t worry, laughter is awlays first and foremost and, if you have been left with a little bit to think about, then all the better.
